We welcome Cankdeska Cikana Community College to the GoodHealthTV™ Network.

Cankdeska Cikana Community College is located in Fort Totten, North Dakota on the Spirit Lake Reservation. The college offers a strong educational curriculum and vocational/technical training while emphasizing the importance of the Dakota language and culture in perpetuating the Spirit Lake Nation. The GoodHealthTV™ television is located near the student lounge.

For their first GoodHealthTV™ video production, the college chose to highlight the Wiconi Ohitika or Strong Life program. This program addresses the growing problem of suicide in Indian Country by partnering with educators, healthcare providers and community members in public awareness and preventive measures. Project staff and community volunteers work with young people using cultural activities as a means of strengthening self esteem and encouraging positive relationships and activities.
